The Softball Guy's C,D and E rankings

TOP 5 in C:

1. TG/TPS/Elite:  TG has been on a role lately not only winning in USSSA, but in other events that they have played in. They are definitely playing the best ball out of any C team right now in the state of Michigan.

2. Line Drive:  Line Drive definitely has the most talent on their roster, but as we seen in Sping States the most talented roster doesn't always win. I expect they will come out on fire this weekend in the C/D.

3. R&L: I really can't wait to watch these guys play in a tournament up north against some teams like Line Drive and P&P. I think R&L is a lot like TG in the fact that they will surprise some of these C teams during the year. P&P is one of the more explosive teams I have seen in while.

4. Great Lakes Express: GLX made a solid run a couple of weeks ago beating up on a couple of D teams along the way. I am very interested in seeing how they do against some of the top C teams.

5. Korody: They have a slight edge over Mayhem right now more because of Mayhem's struggles more than what Korody has done thus far on the field. Either way I think Mayhem and Korody are pretty evenly matched teams.

TOP 5 IN D:

1. Mush Reloaded: They can't be happy finishing in 3rd in this tournament when they were hands down the most talented team in this tournament. Another example of the most talented roster not always finishing with the best record before it is said and done.

2. DO/Mushtube.com: Had a real nice weekend this past weekend beating some pretty impressive teams along the way, but just came up short in the championship game. The one thing that I think that might hurt them from staying in this spot is that they won't have the 3 R&L guys that they had this past weekend.

3. Perkins: First tournament of the year and they came out swinging, upsetting Mush Reloaded early before Mush got them back later in the tournament. Perkins will be a team to be reckoned with in D all year long, especially when fully healhty.

4. Detroit Drama: Another nice run by Drama this past weekend. Drama I could see shooting up the rankings once late June early July comes. Seems like that is when they really start to get rolling.

5. Detroit Phillies: They didn't play this past weekend and struggled in their first tournament of the year, but I really like the make up of this team and once they get rolling I think they can beat anyone in D.

Surprise team of the week:

Sand Baggers: After a 0-2 weekend during the C/D spring states, Sand Baggers bounce back and finish 3-2 this past weekend. Really nice showing from this team.

Flop of the week:

D-Nation: After a couple of pretty good weeks, D-Nation goes 0-2. I am still trying to figure out what this team is. I don't think their as bad as this past weekend, but not as good as the prior either.

TOP 5 IN E:

1. Trust/Wicked Sports: Clearly the number 1 team in E right now, but I do think this past weekend tournament championship was a bit of a mirage. I just feel like they would of struggled against a D team like Mush Reloaded, Perkins or Drama compared to DO.

2. MC Push: With Repo struggling this past weekend and Dooley's continue to struggle offensively, Push gets the 2nd spot this week in the Rankings. They played Trust/Wicked Sports tough and from what I have heard they should of won that game.

3. Repo Monkey: The seem to struggle this weekend even though they picked up two nice pieces with Brender and Stark, they should make their team better. I just think they were emotional drain from everything that happened the week prior and leading into this tournament.

4. Trust Sports Softball: They had the weekend off, but they did finish 4th in E Spring States. It will be interesting to see how they do with the new players added to their team and the release of "The Legend" Bobby Greene and his side kick Bobo. If rumors are true about who they have picked up, they should be a very dangerous team.

5. X-Factor: They won the Novi round robin/tournament this past weekend after they lost a couple of key players during that week. Sometimes their is addition by subraction and I think this might be the case for X-Factor moving forward.

Surprise team of the Week:

Mushsportz: Mushsporz won their first 3 games of tournament this past weekend with an impressive win over Repo Monkey in the process. This team is definitely turning the corner, with E being pretty open outside the top 2 or 3 teams, I think Mushsportz can sneak into the top 5 this year.

Flop of the Week:

Repo Monkey: Hate to give them the flop of the week after the week they had, but this team should never go 0-2 in any tournament that they are in. Looked like they were just going through the motions this past weekend, which is understandable.
