Big Hoss Rankings for C and D with some E talk

Since their was no C tournament this past weekend. My Rankings after the C/D Spring States have not changed at all.

1. TG/TPS/Elite
2. P&P 333/Surburban/Larry's Tire/CMT
3. Line Drive/Triple sSs Sport Cards
4. R&L Concrete
5. Great Lakes Express

With another C/D this weekend at Liberty I expect that these rankings will change a bit for next week.

Top 5 in D:

1. Mush Reloaded/Sinister: If there is one thing you can take from this tournament with Mush Reloaded, it is the fact that we got to see how deep they really are this weekend. After losing early to Perkins, they rolled through the loser's bracket to make it to Sunday, doing it mostly with their bench players.

2. DO/Mushtube.com: They had a great run this past weekend finishing in 2nd place while beating Mush Reloaded and Perkins in the process. I know their is a lot of chatter about them having a couple of R&L guys, but they were also missing a couple of their key players as well, including 3 starting infielders.

3. Perkins Insurance/Trillium/Butches: I knew this team was capable of upsetting some teams and making a run, I just didn't expect them to upset Mush Reloaded so early in the tournament. These guys played great, especially for it being their first tournament of the year, they definitely will be a top D team all year long.

 4. Detroit Drama: Another very good run by Drama finishing 4-2 this past weekend, the only teams that they lost to are ahead of them in the rankings and I think they will compete with those two teams all year long. They are taking the next few weeks off, so it will be interesting to see if the break helps them or hurts them in their first tournament back, but with a veteran group like this any break will help them remain fresh on the year.

5. Sand Baggers: This team had an impressive bounce back weekend after going 0-2 the weekend prior. They finish 3-2 this weekend without playing a single E team the whole tournament. This team is legit and will compete in D. They have a nice group of veterans who have played a while, with some young talent mixed in with them.

Surprise Team of The Week:

Specialty Modification: A solid 2-2 finish from Specialty Modifications after a 0-2 tournament the weekend prior. This team definitely competes and will hang in most games. I think they will only get better the more they play together.

Flop of The Week:

Khaos/S&S Apparel: It is never good when a D team goes 0-2 in a D/E, especially a D team with as much talent and veterans as Khaos has. Scoring only 5 runs per game won't win you many games in slow pitch softball.

E TALK:

Bright Horizon: I believe this team is much improved this year over past years. The core of them have now played together for going on 3 years. That type of experience as a group should help these guys win some close games. They already have become the Giant Killers early in the year with knocking off teams like Dooley's, X-Factor, Big Gamers, and Apex Softball. Very young and scrappy bunch that I expect to continue their winning ways year.

Detroit Riot: They have started off very well this year finishing with winning records in both of the tournaments they have played in. This is another young and scrappy team that will surprise some teams on the year. The one thing that I think might hurt them from being as consistent as they should be is not playing in enough tournaments because they can't get enough guys to come out. It will be nice to see them this weekend in Canton with most of the "top" teams taking the weekend off, they should be able to do very well in that tournament.

MC Push/Clark Building Co.: Like him or hate him, Dave Tack is definitely a difference maker on the mound. The only game Trust Sports/Wicked Sports/Mario looked like they really struggled offensively was with him on the mound. As long as they play good defensve behind him they should win their fair share of games on the year. Losing Mike B. to Trust Sports Softball definitely hurts the offense, but I am sure they are looking somewhere to find someone to replace him.

Well, that is is for my rankings this week. Sorry it took so long to get stuff up this week. Been a crazy week with catching up on work and school and learning how to use this lap top. A few interesting tournaments going on this weekend with the E Qualifier in Canton (which I will get to predict, since Trust/Wicked isn't playing in it.), the C/D at Liberty and the tournament down in Sylvania should have a good Michigan showing. Good Luck to all teams this weekend. Have fun and BE SAFE!
